Woman on assault charge offered bail

A woman who allegedly doused a man with a corrosive substance causing severe burns to his face was offered bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday with strict conditions.

Iosolyn Elliot charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm was offered $200,000 bail with surety and will return to court on September 27.

Elliot will have to report to the Spanish Town Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

She also had to surrender her travel documents and a stop order was put in place.

The Crown is alleging that on August 4 about 9:45 a.m., the defendant went to a primary and junior high school where the complainant was working as a security guard.

She reportedly used an acidic substance to throw on the complainant's countenance causing discoloration.

Following police investigations, she was arrested and charged.
