Swim coach remanded |
|||||
Forty-six-year-old assistant coach Nathan Brown of the Jamaica Swim Team was again remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Brown has been charged in connection with last month's robbery of more than $2.5 million from Empire Supermarket in Cross Roads, St Andrew. Brown is to return to court next week, when his attorney is expected to again apply for bail. The charges include robbery with aggravation, illegal possession of firearm, and shooting with intent. Allegations are that on August 27, two men, one armed with a gun, entered Empire Supermarket and robbed the establishment. It is reported that the men escaped on a motorbike. The police intercepted the bike at the intersection of Lyndhurst Road and Beechwood Avenue. It is reported that Brown was held, and cash amounting to $2.6 million was allegedly taken from him. The other suspect reportedly escaped with the firearm. |
