'I am not hiding' - Mavado's manager surprised at police request
Julian Jones-Griffith, manager of dancehall artiste Mavado, says he is surprised that he is being sought by the police when they know he is overseas on business.

In a release yesterday, the police said Jones-Griffith is being sought by investigators from the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).

According to the police, Jones-Griffith is needed in a case that is presently before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.

However, Jones-Griffith who contacted THE STAR yesterday said he was surprised by the media release as the police know that he has been overseas on business and personal matters for some time.

"My attorneys have spoken to them on several occasions so they have been fully aware of my location for a couple of weeks. I have already asked my attorneys to contact the police again to indicate when I will be returning to the island to deal with this matter," Jones-Griffith said. The police meanwhile say several attempts have been made to locate Jones-Griffith, including visits from them to addresses listed for him.

In addition, persons have been interviewed in an attempt to find him.

The matter is currently before the court and one person has already been charged. The case is scheduled for tomorrow, September 15.

The police are alleging that Jones-Griffith perverted the course of justice and conspired to pervert the course of justice in an accident which occurred along the Belmont main road, St James, on July 22.
