Ity, Fancy Cat buss nuff

with Blakka Ellis

Hey, unnu pree say is a whole heap a people a get buss pon di Ity & Fancy Cat Show? Yeah, man; they're the hosts and main stars and they play a variety of characters in several skits in the series, but the show is not just about Ity & Fancy Cat.

Many other local stars get a chance to share the limelight, and this season of the exciting TV show has definitely seen the return of some recognised favourites and the establishment of some new ones. Last season, the 'Prime Master', played by Dr Michael Abrahams, and 'Miss Jennifer the country helper', played by Kathy Grant, were among the standouts.

hilarious antics

This season it's Noel 'Rozah Roze' Ellis. Thanks to his hilarious antics on the Ity & Fancy Cat Show, Rozah Roze is fast becoming the hottest new comic craze. What many people may not know, though, is that Rozah was creating laughter long before Ity & Fancy Cat. Rozah is a natural comic who has provided free comic relief for friends and family in Trench Town for years. He's also a gifted singer who can move any audience to tears with soulful renditions of hit songs from his famous father Alton Ellis, but he prefers to share laughter.

Miss Jennifer is one of the established characters from last season, who was eagerly anticipated, and she came back with a bang. Multi-talented entertainment personality Donald 'Iceman' Anderson has also been very busy infusing the half-hour sketch comedy with his range and versatility. Iceman does several voices in the opening disclaimers, as well as playing various acting roles - including a courageous and convincing portrayal of Keith 'Shebadah' Ramsey.

There's also strong support from the regular members of the Ity & Fancy Cat Show team. The team members include actress Keniesha Bowes, insurance agent-turned MC/entertainer Dwight Ross, martial artist/poet Joel Ellis, and multifaceted teacher and theatre man Earl Harris.

Other well-known faces have made cameo appearances as well, including people like Deon Silvera, Simon Crosskill, Dahlia Harris, Rishille Bellamy and Miss Jamaica World finalist Rene Harris. Some members of staff from Hedonism II also got their buss, along with some tourists, this week.

unplanned appearances

Many lucky fans get a buss by seeing themselves in the studio audience for the live link recordings too. And, because of the hilarious interactive features like the hidden camera gag 'how would you react', 'Curious Cat', and 'don't show me your talent', several members of the public have also got their chance to 'buss' in unplanned feature appearances.

One such person is the little lady Miss Carter. She was innocently walking along Slipe Road last week and stumbled on what looked like a wad of cash on the ground. She thought she was the recipient of a God-sent windfall, and was anxiously encouraging the lady standing by to 'shub it dung' inna her bag. Laughter buss and joke spoil when she realised that she was actually caught in a prank that has become one of the most hilarious moments of the show.

Well, nuff people get buss in that 'who run di werl' dance off that was the climax of this Sunday's show. And nuff more people laughter bag still a buss from watching the guys in tights. Catch the repeat tonight at 11:00 on TVJ.

Yeah, man, everybody can get a buss on this Ity & Fancy Cat Show. Who to tell, that could even include you!
