Shocking Murray drops new single

Shocking Murray

Reggae artiste Colin Murray, aka Shocking Murray, has been in the music business for a number of years and he has certainly paid his dues on the European reggae scene.

The Portland native has lived and plied his trade on the continent for over a decade. He has enjoyed a good level of success in Europe especially in Germany and Switzerland where he resides. However, his greatest wish is to become a household name in the land of his birth.

"I have achieved a lot musically in Europe and for this I am very grateful. The people over here love my music and I appreciate their love and support. I would like to enjoy the same reception I get in Europe at home in Jamaica," he said.

The patriotic Jamaican has vowed to make this a reality and is working very hard to achieve this goal. Since the start of the year, Shocking Murray has released several singles locally as he takes aim at the Jamaican market. Among these singles are Natural Livity and Johnny. The accompanying music video for Johnny is also enjoying good support on local television stations.

"Right now my team and I are working hard and doing everything possible to establish my name and my music in the Jamaican market. Since last year, I have dropped a few singles locally and the response has been very encouraging, I have been getting a lot of support from the DJs," he said.

The soft spoken Rastafarian is very upbeat about his latest single that has been released locally, a scorching dancehall track titled When The Smoke Clear. The song, which was produced by top-flight European reggae producer Hopetone Blazze for his Ever Blazzing Productions, is currently enjoying good rotation on most of the top radio stations islandwide and is available on iTunes.
