MAN KILLED AT STUDIO - Allegedly shot in dispute over recording

An associate of a music producer was reportedly killed in a shooting incident at a popular studio in the Half-Way Tree area yesterday.

Unconfirmed reports are that the man was killed after there was an altercation between the producer and persons connected with a popular artiste.

A source told THE STAR late last night that the dispute stemmed from the producer's attempt to get the artiste to record a song. The artiste's refusal to do so is said to have fuelled the conflict.

When THE STAR visited the scene of the shooting about 10 p.m., several persons were seen gathered on a sidewalk close to the studio discussing the incident.

Furthermore, the studio appeared abandoned as the doors to the establishment were closed and there was no one on the property.

Subsequently, we were informed that shortly after the incident, persons fled the scene before the arrival of the police. The body was said to have been there for some time

"We hear shot about 5 or 6 p.m ... afta that me just hear seh man stretch out over deh," an alleged eyewitness told THE STAR.

Up to press time, THE STAR was unable to receive detailed information from the detectives associated with the case. A police source, however, confirmed the incident.
