Garveymeade slump to embarrassing defeat

Former leaders Garvey-meade slumped to an embarrassing 71-point (250-179) defeat to former champs Passagefort United in the MP Colin Fagan-sponsored South East St Catherine community domino league at the famous Myrtle Way, Old Passagefort, last Sunday.

Garveymeade came into the contest bubbling with confidence, after winning three games in a row. However, the seasoned Myrtle Way-based team made light work of their opponents.

With the win, Passagefort, along with Waterford, surged to the top of the standings with 13 points each. Garveymeade dropped to third place with 12 points.

In other games, new co-leaders Waterford earned a narrow 250-249 countdown victory over Cumberland, while Westchester Nuckuz defeated Ken's Wildflower 250-237.

The competition continues tomorrow with four matches.
