Fisherman found dead in Port Royal

A Portmore fisherman was found dead in Port Royal, Kingston, on Thursday.

The Denham Town police are now probing the circumstances surrounding the death of Harrison Haughton, otherwise called 'Bobby', a 41-year-old resident of Braeton in Greater Portmore.

Haughton's body was fished from the ocean at Port Royal.

Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 4:10 p.m., Haughton and three other fishermen were diving in the area when he reportedly got into difficulties.

The men were assisted by the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, and Haughton was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
