Rastafarian artiste Cassafaya, real name Phillip Wright, has teamed up with German-based artiste Chris Toppa to produce the Reggae song, Give Thanks For Life, which is set for worldwide release on September 15.

Cassafaya, 37, was born in Fletcher's Land, Kingston and started to sing at age nine, while attending church.

music is strong

It was coincidence, however, that both artistes teamed up to 'Give Thanks For Life, as he explained, "I was just singing the song, one day and Chris began to harmonise the words, and it just blended with my harmony, and we decided to record the song together," said Cassafaya. "In Europe reggae music is strong, but it is mostly led by Jamaican reggae artistes, and people like Chris Toppa from Germany are artistes that will lead the European charge."

Chris Toppa, whose real name is Christian Hamkammer, who just released his new album in Germany last April, called Colour World, came to Jamaica to broaden his experience of the Jamaican culture. It was while in Kingston that he met with Cassafaya.

Both artistes are convinced that the powerful and motivating message of the song could make a difference in how people live in the society.

Cassafaya says, "Although the Jamaican and the European societies differ in terms of culture and customs, their people still need something common, more love.

The beat of the song was created by Firehouse Crew, as they wanted the song to be created by real musicians, to keep the authenticity and the vibration of real reggae music alive.

Then the song was mixed and mastered at Anchor Studio by the renowned musical maestros 'Doctor Marshall' and 'Spider'. The song is already getting airplay locally.
