Bell ATLANTA, Georgia (CMC): Jamaica-born boxer O'Neil Bell will look to hit back from a bad string of defeats when he returns to action on a 10-bout card later this month. The 36-year-old, a former undisputed cruiserweight champion, has lost his last three outings and will hope his luck changes on the September 24 card set for New Jersey. His opponent is yet to be named. "I'm slowly working to regain my status with the boxing world and get my belts back," Bell said. "I'm still a champion but on paper I'm not, so I still have to get it back." His career reached a pinnacle five years ago when he knocked out Jean-Marc Mormeck at Madison Square Garden to unify all three major world titles. Bell, who is now managed by prominent Washington DC doctor Richard Ashby, now boasts a record of 26 wins, four losses and one draw, with 24 knock-outs. Cruiserweight Emmanuel 'Real Steel' Nwodo (23-5, 19 KO) will also fight on the same card along with the unbeaten featherweight Kamil Laszczyk. |
