25-y-o, juveniles on numerous charges remanded
Two juveniles and a 25-year-old man were remanded in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court on charges of shop and housebreaking, assault with intent to rob and larceny.

They are 25-year-old Sheldon Lawrence and the two minors, ages 16 and 17, all of Pisgah addresses in the parish.

They are scheduled to return to court on September 12.

The 17-year-old has also been charged with illegal possession of a firearm.

Allegations are that between August 27 and 28, Lawrence and the two teenagers broke into a couple's shop and house and waited for the occupants to return.

It is alleged that when the couple arrived home, they were sprayed in the eyes with a mixture of salt and pepper.

However, it is reported that a male member of the couple's family challenged the three with a machete.

The men were later taken into custody and the incident was reported to the Newmarket police in the parish.

It is reported that the men were found with items taken from the couple's shop and house.
