Man in cocaine bust offered $3m bail

A MAN ACCUSED OF possession of and dealing in 1 1/2lb cocaine which had a street value of $2.2 million was offered $3 million bail in court yesterday.

Barrington Hamilton of a Kingston address did not make plea and will return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on November 10.

The allegations are that Hamilton was arrested on August 20 in Vineyard Town after he was seen entering the home with a plastic bag. The police said he was reportedly found in an outside kitchen where the cocaine was also found.

His attorney, Chris Tavares-Finson, made the application for bail before Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams.

He was offered bail on the condition that he reports to the transnational and narcotics division every day and surrender his travel documents.
