A 29-year-old man has been charged with the death of Nucia Simms, 29, a former employee of the Spendless Nightclub in Mountainside, St Elizabeth.

He is Devon Blair of a May Pen, Clarendon, address who was on Tuesday charged with murder, illegal possession of a firearm and robbery.

He is scheduled to appear in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court today.

Allegations are that on August 13, Simms' body was found in bushes along the Haughton main road in St Elizabeth about seven hours after she was reportedly abducted from her apartment by three gunmen.

It is reported that Simms had just arrived home from work when the men barged into her room and began beating her.

It is alleged that the men abducted her and her body was found in bushes later that morning with gunshot wounds.

THE STAR understands that days later, the police inter-cepted a woman who had Simms' BlackBerry phone.

It is reported that the woman told investigators that her boyfriend gave her the phone.

Following further investigations done by the St Elizabeth police, Blair was taken into custody and later charged.

Meanwhile, the police are searching for two other men, who were also involved in Simms' murder.
