|
A man who was allegedly caught with ganja pleaded not guilty to the offences when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Charged with possession of and dealing in ganja is Howard Brown, 42-year-old welder of Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town, St Catherine. When Brown appeared before Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green, he was granted $200,000 bail. Allegations before the court are that on September 1, about 2 p.m., the St Catherine North Street Crime Unit carried out a raid at an address on Brunswick Avenue. During the search of the premises, two plastic buckets were checked by the police and ganja weighing 12lb was found. Brown was subsequently charged. He is scheduled to reappear on December 6, when the matter will again be mentioned. - R.T.
