Funeral director gets bail extension

A 48-year-old man who has been charged with bigamy had his bail extended in the Yallahs Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.

He is Albert Brown, a funeral director, who is to return to court on October 31, when the officiating pastors at both weddings are expected to appear.

Brown reportedly operates a funeral home jointly with his first wife Karen Brown, who he married in March 2003.

Allegations are that in 2007, Brown walked out of the matrimonial home in St Thomas.

He remarried Pamela Sutherland in April 2008.

It is reported that Brown's first wife found out about her husband's other marriage when she was confronted by his second wife.

A report was made to the police and Brown and his second wife were arrested on February 15, 2009.
