Cavalier SC defeated Arnett Gardens FC 1-0 to lift the Claro/KSAFA 2010/2011 Under-13 title on Friday, September 2 at the Barbican football field.

Cavalier's Krishna Clarke, who scored the lone goal of the game, gave Cavalier the lead when he fired past Arnett's goalkeeper Alrick Moncrieffe in the 22nd minute.

A total of 12 games were scheduled to be played, but Cavalier SC played 11 games in the competition and won them all and received three points from the Mountain View FC, who failed to show for their game.

Winning coach Richard Bryan said the game was as tough as anticipated, but the players fought hard and attained the victory.

"I am elated, happy for the young players, they came out undefeated. The game was hard, yes, but the players worked hard for this victory and so they deserved it. Credit goes out to Arnett Gardens, but we stuck with the task and fought well," Bryan said.

dominated in every area

In the first half of the game, Cavalier SC dominated in every area against an Arnett Gardens team which was weak but still tried to match the eventual winners at every opportunity.

In the second half, Arnett Gardens came out a more determined team. Shots from Michael Brooks and Shevaughn Bryan had Cavalier worried, but they were not able to find the back of the net.

In the preliminary stage of the competition, Cavalier had defeated Arnett Gardens FC 3-2

Arnett Gardens' coach Byron Earle praised both teams for their level of play. Earle, a former national player, had set his sights on taking the title as he had led the Under-15 team while the club's senior team had won the Champions Cup trophy.

"Credit must go to the Cavalier team, and my team also, but I am a little bit disappointed as I wanted to take this title home as I did with the Under-15 title," said Earle, an ace goalscorer for Charlie Smith High in the 1980s.

Cavalier are also winners of the 2010/2011 Super League and the Under-17 Champions League, as well as semi-finalists in the Under-15 Champions League during the just-concluded football year.
