Teen accused of sexually violating boy remanded

Rasbert Turner, Portmore Star Writer

A Portmore teenager accused of sexually violating an 11-year-old boy was remanded until his surety could be presented in court.

The teenager's lawyer was told that his client would remain in custody until whoever stands as surety for him, attends court.

It was agreed that the matter would be mentioned on September 5, when the persons who stood surety for the accused are available.

Allegations are that relatives of the boy observed him behaving strangely and inquired what was the problem. It was revealed that the accused had molested him more than once.

A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offence and Child Abuse.

An investigation was launched, which resulted in charges of buggery be brought against him.
