Babee Doll getting attention with 'Two Man'

From an early age, New York-based dancehall artiste Babee Doll developed a strong love for music.

During her high school years, she would listen to artistes like Lady Saw, Chevelle Franklin, Lady Mackrel (now known as Macka Diamond) and Lady G.

"From I was a little girl I was drawn to music and entertainment on a whole. I was always singing, dancing and giving jokes whether I was at home with my family or hanging with my friends. I was always doing something to make others happy," she said.

However, despite the fact that she was drawn to music, Babee Doll had no real intentions of becoming an entertainer until she met her very good friend and mentor L. Razor a few years ago.

"I never really planned to be an artiste, I basically got into the music biz because of my friend L. Razor, who is also an artiste. He always encouraged me to visit the studios with him. After a few visits, one day he asked me to do a little part in one of his productions, and one thing lead to another and the next thing you know he had me recording my own tracks."

Since then, there has been no turning back for Babee Doll, who is currently promoting her latest single, Two Man, which was done in tandem with veteran deejay Blacker for T & M Productions.

"I am currently promoting my single with Blacker called Two Man, and the response to it has been very positive. It's getting a lot of airplay in New York and Jamaica. The video for Two Man was directed by Asha and it's also getting a lot of support," said Babee Doll, who is originally from Hopewell, Hanover.

Encouraged by the response to Two Man, Babee Doll is getting ready to release some new singles. She is particularly excited about a song she recorded with Macka Diamond called Money Anthem.

"Right now, I am going to drop some more singles and I am particularly excited about the song I did with Macka Diamond called Money Anthem."
