Popular dancehall enigma Sherlock Family has been on the local circuit for many years. The trio are known for their outlandish dress codes and their ubiquitous exploits in the dancehall. But is it profitable?

According to Gary 'Sherlock' Higgings, their lifestyle has become their job and business is very profitable.

"Wi always present at hype parties and our fashion always look good, suh people like that and book us for their events," he said.

The fashion icon, promoter and part-time dancer says that the Sherlocks were influenced by the late dancer Gerald 'Bogle' Levy.

"Bogle was a great dancer and fashion icon, suh wi look up to him, but at the same time our style is original, some people try copy us but wi always stand out more than them," he said.

According to Gary Sherlock, the group has also acted in the capacity of fashion consultant for artistes, aiding in photo shoots and videos.

"A nuff time artiste a have photo shoot and a wi tell dem wey fi wear, and what not to wear," he said.

Gary told the WEEKEND STAR that because of their status in dancehall, they have been booked for events in other countries like any regular entertainer.

"When people see us, they always want us to be a part of their parties to add hype to it and some realness, so we tour every wey dancehall popular and getting paid for that," he told the WEEKEND STAR.

Gary and the Sherlock Family are currently in the United States, where they are being kept busy. They have made appearances at different party scenes showing off the latest dancehall fashion and adding the dancehall flavour to international parties.

The Sherlock Family is comprised of Gary 'Sherlock' Higgings, Omar 'Sherlock' Barker and Nagesha 'Sherlock' Higgings.

They got their names from their hometown in the Sherlock community of Duhaney Park in Kingston.

The group is also gearing up for their upcoming events, Paparazzi Movement on November 6 in Queens, New York, and Sherlock all white on December 29 in Jamaica.
