Popular dancehall figure Lena British will be venturing into music with the release of her first rhythm. Known as a promoter for the popular event 'British Link Up', Lena British is serious about her foray into the music business. No stranger to reggae/dancehall music, having been involved at various levels as a stylist, designer, model and promoter, music production will see British venture being totally involved in creating music from start to finish. In a release sent to The STAR British said, "I have always had an ear for good music." She added that over the years she has developed a keen sense of what can work and what can't. The rhythm, dubbed 'Priceless Signature' is being released under her own label called L.Brits Production. She is being ably assisted into this production venture by popular producer, Jam 2, who has long admired Lena's professionalism in the dancehall. It is that same level of professionalism which Lena British brings to this project. According to the release having listened to a number of rhythms from Jam 2, Lena has selected one which she is confident is the most workable. "It's a top-a-top riddim with only top-a-top artistes," Lena said. British, however, declined to state the artistes being featured preferring to keep it a surprise.
"But it's all good," she assured. "Positive, uplifting lyrics and to match a riddim with a lot of swag É. It's Priceless," she emphasised. According to British the rhythm should be released by next week and is a hard-core dancehall rhythm.
In 2009 British made headlines with the launch of her own designer hair line. The line called 'Lena's Island Beauty' has some 16 different styles and is dedicated to making the Jamaican woman look and feel beautiful. She will almost be launching her own bikini swim wear line soon.
While British is making strides as a designer and now as a producer, for the popular personality it is an improvement in her family life that would be a dream come true. In the release, when asked if music production was her dream she was quoted as saying, "No, it's not. Having a baby would be a dream come true." |
