Mother on manslaughter charge gets bail extension |
|||||
The mother of the twin girls who perished in a fire at their Kingston 2 home some five months ago had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Kerri-Ann Watson, 22, who has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, is to return to court on October 6 as the post-mortems are still outstanding. She has pleaded not guilty to the charge. Allegations are that on March 21, Watson locked her two-year-old girls, Shannaya and Latoya Wave, in a room of her house and left them without adult supervision. It is further alleged that fire of unknown origin started inside the room and the girls were killed. Previously, Watson's attorney told the court that his client had gone to get food for her children when the incident happened. |
