Greetings. I am 25 and I am a professional. I am getting married on December 26, which is Boxing Day. I am the only child for my father. He does not have any sons and he is planning to give me away on my wedding day.

I would like to continue to carry my maiden name after I am married, in honour of my father. He has been a great father and has supported me all the way.

Would I have to carry my husband's name after I am married?

I am glad that you think highly of your father. And I am also happy that you are getting married. You can continue to use your maiden name after you are married. You may add your husband's name, but you are not obliged to do so.
