No order made in larceny case

A no order was made in a matter involving an 18-year-old man accused of stealing half bag of rice and a bag of flour.

Demar Thorne from Bull Bay, St Andrew was charged with simple larceny after it was reported that he stole the goods from his brother's shop. Allegations are that on Tuesday, July 26, the complainant and his grandmother went on the road to conduct some business.

Reports are that the complainant left a 13-year-old relative in the shop but when he returned he discovered that the goods were missing.

While making checks in the area to find out who had bought the items, a lady told the complainant that she paid the accused some money for the goods.

The matter was reported to the police and Thorne was arrested.

When Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked the accused why he stole the items he said that his brother owed him money.
