Men arrested for counterfeit notes

Four men were arrested following a number of operations conducted by the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID) and the Darling Street police on Thursday in Manchester.

Three of the four were taken into custody in connection with the manufacture of counterfeit Jamaican dollar notes of various denominations, including $5,000, $1,000, and $100. Identification parades are to be conducted.

A printer, a quantity of blank sheets and other material and apparatus suspected to be used in the production of counterfeit notes were seized along with three large containers and a suitcase containing marijuana weighing approximately 53 pounds.

The fourth arrested person, Kevin Manhu, 37, unemployed resident of Wagon Wheel, Hatfield, and Abbey Gardens, both in Manchester, was charged for possession of and dealing in ganja.

Manhu is to appear before the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
