A man who the St Catherine North police said was wanted for several murders was shot and killed yesterday. He has been identified as Michael Maragh, 27, unemployed of March Pen Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Reports are that about 3 a.m., a team of police and soldiers went in search of Maragh who is said to be a member of the One Order gang.

They approached a house in the Ellerslie Pen area and the team was challenged. During a shoot-out, Maragh was shot and killed.

Senior police personnel told The Weekend Star that the deceased was wanted for a number of crimes, including murder, committed in the division. The Bureau of Special Investigations is conducting a probe into the matter.
