Investigators from the St Catherine North Police Division have started an investigation into a case of suspected suicide.

The dead man has been identified as Omar Gray, labourer, of Silveria Drive, Fairview, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Police reports are that about 7:30 a.m., the body of Gray, 22,who is affectionately call 'White Man', was found hanging from a piece of rope in a room at the rear of a grocery shop along Wellington Street.

Persons who gathered expressed shock at Gray's death.

"A young bwoy like dat, why him would a hang himself like that? You can never tell as young people have problem too," two bystanders argued.

Other persons said he threatened for some time to hang himself; however, he was not taken seriously. "Dem tings ya just salt up the place as you can't even go about your business now," Michelle Bartley said. Further investigations are being undertaken by the Spanish Town police.
