A Jamaican National who was deported from the United States in 2006 has pleaded guilty to illegally re-entering the country.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune, North Versailles police detained 46-year-old Christopher Lawrence in March after an auto accident.

The arrest affidavit notes that Lawrence was held because his driver's licence, under the name of 'Alton A. Reid', didn't check out.

THE STAR understands that through fingerprints, police were able to identify him. They also discovered that he had been deported from Miami in 2006 following a drug conviction.

US District Judge Gustave Diamond will hand down a sentence on December 13.
