Macka pleads for return of stolen goods

Dancehall deejay Macka Diamond is left with woes after a performance on Sunday at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.

The deejay's vehicle was broken into, and one of the windows shattered during her performance at Yasus Afari and Mutabaruka's Poetry Festival. Macka, real name Charmaine Munroe, was robbed of her passport, her son's passport, birth certificate, property title, US and local cards, iPad, as well as other important documents. The incident was reported to the Half-Way Tree Police Station.

In a release sent to The STAR, Macka and her team said they were pleading for the return of the items. The release stated, "Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond is appealing to the person or persons who broke into her vehicle in the parking lot at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre and stole her handbag or anyone who found a handbag with documents belonging to Charmaine Munroe to kindly return these documents to the nearest radio station, or call 477-6673."

According to the release, Macka Diamond said she had a scheduled performance at the poetry festival, and had some other businesses to take care of first thing Monday morning that required the use of her personal ID and information. When contacted, a depressed sounding Macka Diamond commented, "Mi just waan beg di people bring back the passport, especially my son's. Mi nuh business bout di phone or iPad, just the passport."
