QQ GETS 7 CSEC SUBJECTS

SHELDON WILLIAMS, Staff Reporter

Dancehall artiste Kareem 'QQ' Dawkins is in high spirits after receiving the results for his seven CSEC subjects which he sat in exams in June to complete his high-school education.

'QQ' told THE STAR that he checked his results online Thursday night and was pleased with the grades he received, which included, two grade ones (1), two grade twos(2) and three grade threes(3).

QQ admitted though he was not confident that he would have received passing grades for mathematics and principles and accounts, but surprised himself when he returned grade threes for both subjects which he thought were challenging.

At the same time, he told THE STAR that, "my parents are just overwhelmed and happy ... a lot of persons were saying that I would not excel, since this (CSEC) is not GSAT ... so I'm happy I proved some people wrong,".

Now that his secondary education has been completed, QQ admitted that he will be focusing on music full time but is considering to read for a degree in business online probably at Florida International University.

QQ took the opportunity to inform THE STAR that he has a number of new singles which he will be promoting.

The songs include Cowfoot and Splice, which are dancing tunes. The video for Splice is scheduled to be shot today. He added that he will also be recording Same Gun and In Your Eyes, which are more 'one drop' songs.

QQ sat English language, mathematics, Spanish, religious education, history, office administration, and principles of accounts in CSEC.

At the same time, QQ joked that, "Now that I am an old boy, I'll try to be give back to my school as best I can,".

QQ will graduate in October from Calabar High School.
