A man was fined over $500,000 or six months in prison when he appeared in the Black River Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. He is Hugh Wilson, of Ridge Pen, St Elizabeth, who pleaded guilty to possession of ganja, dealing in and using premises for storing ganja. Wilson was fined $576,600 or six months in prison. Allegations are that on June 4, members of the Area 3 Trans-national Crime and Narcotics Division were on an operation in the Ridge Pen area of St Elizabeth when a house occupied by Wilson was searched and the ganja found. He was taken into custody and charged with possession of, dealing in and using premises to store ganja. Wilson was fined $15,000 for possession and $280,800 or six months on each count of dealing in and using premises for storing ganja. |
