Babymother hauls Clif-Twang to court - Claims he is not supporting children |

Internet sensation turned celebrity Clifton 'Clif-Twang' Brown was hauled before the Family Court last week by the mother of his children for lack of child maintenance. Brown was arrested and brought to court after a summons was served on him by the Mavis Bank police recently. The 'entertainer' had his bail extended until August 23 when he is expected to return to court. A source close to the case reliably informed THE WEEKEND STAR that Brown denied the allegations of the complainant and told the court that he had proof that he has been paying regular child maintenance. Brown is expected to produce such evidence to the court on his next court date. Clif-Twang became an overnight celebrity following the release of the immensely popular Nobody Canna Cross It. The remix was done by DJ Powa after Brown appeared on a newscast where he called on authorities to rebuild the bridge in his Mavis Bank community. The song was posted on American news station CBS' website. countless advertisements Following its release, Clif-Twang had appeared on a local entertainment programme stating that he was not pleased about the song's success. He explained that he was not interested in being an artiste and was a devout Christian. He further stated that if he wished to pursue music it would be in the gospel arena. Since the song's release, however, on YouTube the song has received more than 1.6 million views. The catch phrase 'Nobody Caana Cross It' has since been used in countless advertisements, on T-shirts and the song has been played both on radio and at events. Brown also did a video promoting the recently concluded Dream Weekend. In June, Brown signed an endorsement deal with telecommunications giant LIME and by the end of July he was once again in the spotlight when he made an appearance alongside 'The Doctor', Beenie Man on Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, St James. He has also done a number of 'jingles' for various disc jocks. Clif-Twang is being managed by Scatta Burrell, music producer and judge on the talent competition 'Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall' and along with Downsound Records. |
