Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

A man who is accused of breaking into a church and later attacking a policeman is to reappear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on October 24.

He is Wayne Tulloch, otherwise called Oliver Tulloch, a mason, from Nugent Street in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

When the case was mentioned before Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix yesterday, it was rescheduled.

Investigating officer Detective Corporal Kirk Roache outlined that about 7:15 a.m. on February 2 last year, Tulloch was held inside a Seventh-day Adventist Church in Willodene, St Catherine, with a quantity of stolen items, including fans, a microwave and toiletries.

The court heard that a policeman who went to the scene approached Tulloch who reportedly attacked the lawman and was shot and injured.

He was taken to the Spanish Town Police Station and was subsequently charged with sacrilege.
