Man remanded again for allegedly killing lover

A man accused of killing his male lover at his home along Dupont Avenue, Kingston 20, because of his alleged unfaithfulness, was again remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Twenty-four-year-old Fabian Montique, a security guard from Coral Gardens, St James, is to return to court on July 27 for mention.

Allegations are that on Sunday, June 5, about 1:35 p.m., Montique accused his alleged lover Michael Morris of being unfaithful.

According to reports, an argument that became physical ensued.

Further allegations are that a kitchen knife was used to stab Morris in the left side of his neck and the upper region of his back. He was rushed to the Andrews Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The accused, who reportedly fled the crime scene, was later caught in the Half-Way Tree area and arrested.

On the last occasion in court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered that the accused be interviewed for legal aid. However, when the matter came before the court on Friday it was revealed that the accused was yet to be interviewed.
