Teen girl held for brother's killing

SHELDON WILLIAMS, STAFF Reporter

It was a day he was to be celebrating another year of his life, but birthday celebrations ended prematurely for a 22-year-old man, who was allegedly stabbed to death during a dispute with his 14-year-old sister last Wednesday.

Dead is Oshane Gray from Blackwood Terrace, St Andrew.

Information reaching THE STAR suggests that Gray was stabbed in the left shoulder during a dispute in the wee hours of the morning.

Gray was then assisted to the nearby Vanford Medical Centre on Pennant Terrace in an attempt to save his life.

A witness told THE STAR that when Gray reached the centre, he was barely conscious and seemed as if he was desperately hanging on to life as he seemed weak and had to be held upright by a group of persons who took him to the doctor.

The police were summoned by the doctor and Gray was reportedly transferred to the Accident and Emergency department at the Kingston Public Hospital where he later died.

Meanwhile, THE STAR understands that the police picked up the minor implicated in the death of her brother. She is now in a place of safety pending further police investigation.

The Constant Spring CIB is heading the investigation.
