Manhunt launched for alleged serial rapist

The St Ann police have launched a manhunt from an alleged serial rapist who escaped their custody on Wednesday night.

Vivian Brady reportedly escaped police custody while being held for several sexual offences in at least five parishes.

He was reportedly being transported from Clark's Town in Trelawny to a lock-up in St Ann when he escaped sometime after 9 p.m.

THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the police have not yet released all the details surrounding his escape.

In the meantime, the policemen involved are being questioned as a probe has since been launched into the incident.

It is reported that Brady escaped in the Runaway Bay area.

The police are appealing to residents in the Runaway Bay, Mount Olivet, Brown's Town and Discovery Bay areas of St Ann, to be on the lookout for the prisoner and contact them immediately if he is seen.

Brady is said to be of brown complexion, five feet eight inches tall and has an unkempt beard.

Brady has been charged in five parishes for several sexual offences including rape and abduction as well as robbery.

In St Ann alone, there are at least 10 sexual offences charges against him.
