Trial date set for woman accused of theft

August 2 was the date set for sentencing in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for a woman who stole $88,000 worth of stock from her employer.

Gabrielle Radcliffe, sales representative from Angel Grove in Spanish Town, St Catherine, is charged with larceny as a servant and is expected to make restitution by the sentence date.

Reports are that the accused was employed to Quantum Cellular Limited when she stole approximately $88,000 from the sales of items between June 18 to July 2 of this year.

Radcliffe was said to have stolen $80,752 worth of Digicel phones and $7,056 worth of sim cards over a two-week period.

An internal audit which was conducted by the store manager revealed the irregularity when the same amount of stock was discovered missing and was unaccounted for.
