An ex-policeman was on Wednesday arrested and charged by members of the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) for breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act. Constable Dateny Small, 33, was granted $50,000 bail with condition that he surrenders his travel documents and report to a police station two times per week when he appeared in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court. He will return to court on August 23 for mention. Allegations are that in January 2010, Small solicited and accepted a sum of money from a motorist to avoid prosecution for an alleged breach of the Road Traffic Act. |
