CURTIS CAMPBELL, STAR Writer
Big Ship recording artiste Laden has severed ties with Stunt Squad Colony, a group that he has been a part of since 2004. According to Laden, members of Stunt Squad have switched sides to join his enemies and are trying to defame his character. "I was the leader of Stunt Squad but the followers start follow some other people wey mi nuh mesh wid and dem a style mi and a call up mi name," he said. Laden says that everything was good in the camp until Snypa King his right-hand man started to get impatient and began to make negative comments behind his back. "Snypa King a walk a tell people sey Laden nuh duh nuttin fi him an a chat mi wid mi enemy," he said. "From mi buss mi sey Stunt Squad, a me mek people know dem, even in Time to Shine a me sey Snypa King, mek people know him name," he expressed. The artiste also said he called Snypa King when the conflict was brought to his attention and he was shrugged off by the young artiste who told him he is a big man and he is free to do anything he wants to do. 'diss song' According to Laden, a member of Stunt Squad has also recorded a 'diss song' directed at him. "Yuh have this wannabe name Young Vet wey a try be like mi, dress like mi and everything, him mek di man dem boost him fi diss mi inna song," he said. Laden has since released a song on the Bad Acid rhythm called People Tings, where he appears to be throwing lyrical blows at Snypa King. One notable line he says 'Yu nuffi bad mind fi people tings bwoy yuh wi quick fi switch di link.' However, the artiste says that the song wasn't made for Snypa King but it just fits in correctly with the situation. THE STAR contacted Snypa King and he expressed that Laden had a friction with a friend and because he did not take any sides in the conflict, Laden got upset and hurled insults at him. "Laden a try boss up di ting, like mi a nuh big man, mi and people nuh have no problem suh why mi ago malice people because Laden and dem nuh deal," he said. According to the artiste, Stunt Squad did not have a leader, it was a unit for musical progress and Laden took it upon himself to claim leadership. The artiste says word on the streets is that he is the new leader but for him it's more about teamwork. Laden is now associated with another group called Definite Edition, and is slated to perform at Reggae Sumfest. As for Snypa King, he has been busy recording new material with members of Stunt Squad; Vigilant, Young Vet and Ominition. |
