Petrojam lead Business House standings

Petrojam's Aphas Bernard.

Defending division I champion Petrojam lead the points standing in the 2011 Western Sports-sponsored Business House Football Competition via a better goal average than promoted division II champion, Wisynco. Both team top the standing on 11 points each.

With four teams qualifying for the semi-final, seven of the nine teams in division I are still in contention with three rounds to go. Former champions ScotiaBank Group will play Wisynco Group tomorrow at The Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in a must win match. If they are to stay in contention, nothing less than three points will do, as they have seven points from five matches and a loss will make advancing to the semis impossible.

Petrojam are expected to defeat Norman Manley International Airport at Bull Pen and advance, while former champion Carib Cement on nine points, will try to avenge their 1-0 knockout defeat, which they suffered to Wray and Nephew last week and strengthen their chances.

Norman Manley International Airport and Wray & Nephew are on one and zero points, respectively and cannot advance. National Water Commission are on 10 points with two matches to play.

Jamaica Customs lead division II with 19 points, and they are followed by National Housing Trust on 12, Jamaica Fire Brigade 11 points, Red Stripe on 10 and National Commercial Bank and ACS on nine points each. ISCF eight points, Grace Kennedy and JNBS four points and JUTC on three points are the cellar dwellers. NHT will play Grace Kennedy at Jessie Ripoll Primary School and JNBS will play NCB at Barbican Playfield. All matches start at 4 pm.
