BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

Trinidad and Tobago will launch their bid for a third successive title in the WICB Women's One-Day Championship when they face powerhouses Jamaica in their opening game on August 8.

The Trinidadians, who will be led by West Indies skipper Merissa Aguilleira, will be the favourites to take the title yet again as they will boast a strong team at the August 8-14 tournament.

T&T will comprise the likes of West Indies players Stacey-Ann King, Anisa Mohammed, Britney Cooper and Kirbyina Alexander in their line- up.

Jamaica are also expected to field a strong team, with international batting star Stafanie Taylor and Shanel Daley likely to feature.

Last year, T&T defeated hosts St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in the final to win the title.

T&T will campaign Zone A along with Jamaica, Guyana and Grenada, while SVG will do battle with Barbados, St Lucia and Dominica in Zone B.

The first round of action will also see clashes between SVG and Barbados, with Guyana and Grenada, and St Lucia and Dominica, also taking aim at each other.
