![]() Contributed - With excitement and fanfare, mayor of Portmore, Councillor Keith Hinds, cuts the ribbon to set off the celebrations and to officially open LIME's 100th retail store. LIME's head of retail, Simone Sanguinetti-Mullings, and Regional Special Projects Manager Stephen Price share the moment. Continuing its massive investment in both the commercial and community life of Portmore, LIME Jamaica opened its 100th retail store location last weekend at the Portmore Mall. The new flagship store, which was established at a cost of $6 million, is one of 25 new retail locations the company has opened in the last 12 months. The outlet offers the full range of LIME's products, including a wide range of mobile handsets, desktop, laptop and netbook computers, as well as wireless and fixed modems. Customers can also purchase top-up, pay bills and sign up for LIME services at the new location. To mark this major milestone, LIME's 100th store was launched with considerable fanfare, including a brief opening ceremony which was followed by a plaza party that lit up Block B of the Portmore Mall, where the new store is located. Speaking at the opening, LIME's head of retail, Simone Sanguinetti-Mullings, said, "We are on a major retail expansion drive to bring LIME's products and services closer to a wider cross section of citizens across Jamaica." She added: "This is one of 25 new stores we have opened in the last year and we will continue to set up outlets in strategic locations to ensure that no customer has to travel too far to do business with LIME." The mayor of Portmore, Keith Hinds, did the ribbon-cutting duties at the ceremony and declared the new location officially open. "On behalf of the people of Portmore, I thank LIME sincerely for their continued investment in the parish which has already provided significant benefits for our citizens in several communities," Mayor Hinds said. "Portmore is a growing commercial centre and we invite other businesses to follow LIME's lead by increasing their commercial presence in the city. Following the opening ceremony, LIME fêted its in-store customers and members of the wider public at the Portmore Mall. Activities included dancing competitions, singing contests and impromptu quizzes and challenges which had persons competing vigorously for mobile phones, credits, giveaways and other gift items. LIME also had a special gift for the store's 100th customer, a Samsung I5800 Android smartphone. This prize went to 11-year-old Andrew Palmer. |
