After asking why he was being stopped, the inspector was told that he was suspected to have ganja in his possession. It is alleged that he then admitted to the police that there was contraband in his vehicle.

Subsequently, a search of the vehicle was initiated and a black knapsack and three cardboard boxes were found. Further checks revealed the knapsack and the boxes contained vegetable matter resembling ganja wrapped in masking tape.

It is also alleged that the inspector told the police that the ganja came from Braes River in St Elizabeth and was given to him to deliver in Kingston. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Mobile Reserve where his office was searched. THE STAR understands that the home of the cop was also searched, but nothing illegal was found.
