Hurricane hungry for more success...after being crowned Magnum King of the Dancehall 2011

The male winner in this year's Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall, Hurricane, says that it's all celebration in his community after copping the title over his rival Specialist.

Hurricane says his dream is finally becoming a reality as music is what he always wanted to do.

The artiste who is a certified electrician by HEART, says that he had been to a total of 11 auditions before getting a chance to showcase his talent. "Mi a guh Magnum from the first season and mi neva give up, and the one chance dem give, mi tek it home," he told THE WEEKEND STAR.

"When mi get certified as an Electrician that was just a backup plan. Wi nuh plan fi fail but yu affi have a plan B," he said.

The excited entertainer says since winning the competition, every day is like Christmas, as there have been constant celebrations from his peers and family.

According Hurricane, he had a lot of doubters but his persistence proved them wrong.

"There is a thin line between a mad man and a hero, because if you try something and you fail people will say you are a mad man, but if yu successful you will be seen as a hero, so a jus you affi be determined," he said.

The newly crowned King is already making preparations to release his crowd favourite singles Wine Yu Waist and Galang Bad, both of which will be featured in his debut video. The artiste also hinted that ace producers Ward 21 and Washroom Entertainment will work on his upcoming releases.

According to the artiste, he has also been approached by a few upcoming producers but he is still eyeballing the big league.

Hurricane is also gearing up for a string of performances this summer such as the Montego Bay Jerk festival, ATI and Bar Invasion, and says he is currently working on a song with upcoming artiste Dre Blunt.

"I want to say thanks to all the people who supported me, people like Ravers, Florrel Thompson, Splendid, Becky, Mobay and the entire Jamaica," he said.

The artiste is not booked for Reggae Sumfest, but says he hopes to get a call from the organizers.
