Accused bail extended |

|
A Labourer accused of chopping a man to death had his bail extended when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. The accused, Sheldon Peterson, 22, from Wellside Crescent, Kingston 11, is to return to court on August 10 for mention as the post-mortem is still outstanding. Allegations are that on November 30 of last year, the accused and the now deceased were walking through bushes in Claypole district, St Andrew, when an argument developed between both men over a bicycle. It is alleged that the deceased who was armed with a machete used same to inflict wounds to the accused man's arm. Further allegations are that a tussle ensued and the accused managed to disarm the deceased. He subsequently used the machete to chop the deceased all over his body killing him on the spot. |
