WOMAN ROBS 10-Y-O WITH KNIFE?
A woman accused of robbing a 10-year-old child of $120 pleaded not guilty when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

She is Lydia Black, 21, from Tivoli Gardens, Kingston 14, who is charged with robbery with aggravation.

Allegations are that on June 23, about 3 p.m., the complainant was at a restaurant in the Tivoli Gardens area when the accused held on to his hand with the money given to him by his mother to buy food.

Subsequently, she pulled the child outside the restaurant and allegedly bit him on his right hand leaving teeth imprints. Further allegations are that she used a small knife to inflict a wound to the child's little finger.

The defendant told the court that, "Is dem stole my baby $3,000 and I went to the station and report it ... . Your honour, him mother force him to tell lie and if him don't, she tie him up round the back and beat him."

The accused had her bail extended until August 18.
