Five women accused of conspiring to defraud a supermarket in St Andrew of more than $5 million pleaded not guilty and had their bails extended until July 20 when they appeared in court yesterday.

They are: Natalie Bruta, 27; Kerry Ann Levy, 28; Venecia Jarrett, 33; Kimberly Lowe, 19 and Shanique Campbell, 21. The accused women have been charged with larceny as a servant and conspiracy to defraud.

fictitious cash refunds

Allegations are that between September 3 and April 19, the group information technology manager for the supermarket discovered that the women, who were employed to the supermarket, were entering fictitious cash refund transactions into the system and taking the money from the register for their own personal use and benefit.

It is also alleged that Natalie Bruta a supervisor authorised all the illegitimate cash refund transactions.

Attorney-at-law CJ Mitchell is representing Bruta and Campbell while Stacey Bushaey appears for Lowe and Michael Jordon for Jarrett. THE STAR understands that Levy is still without legal representation.
