BIG GANJA BUST
An estimated 2,000 pounds of compressed ganja was reportedly seized by the St James police in Irwin district in the parish yesterday.

Reports are that between 12 noon and 1 p.m. the police conducted a raid on a premises in Irwin district when they confiscated the drugs.

In addition, four Global Positioning System (GPS) units and $180,000 were also seized.

Two persons were arrested in connection with the find. However, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.

Investigations are continuing in the matter.

Likewise, police personnel from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division seized 287.7 pounds of ganja in the Kingston 13 area recently.

On that occasion, police reportedly acted on intelligence and went to a premises on Woodpecker Avenue in the Kingston 13 area where they made the contraband discovery.

It was reported that a room occupied by a woman was searched when the police encountered five bags that contained compressed vegetable matter resembling ganja.

A total of 59 parcels were reportedly confiscated by the police.

Two persons have been charged in connection with that find, they are Shadian Maragh Wolfe and Dorren Simon.

That matter is now before the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court.
