Selector Boom Boom launches record label

Popular selector Marlon 'Boom Boom' Wizard has launched his own recording label, Boom Boom Records.

The DJ says that he has always wanted to explore the field of production and he feels this is the perfect time, given the experience he has got from being around the Alliance and friend Future Fambo.

According to the selector, the record label was formed in the last two weeks and he is currently in the process of recording singles for his debut rhythm, Summa Boom.

"So far one single has been recorded, featuring Fambo and Ikaya, in the next few weeks more artistes ago record," he told THE STAR.

The DJ says that I-Octane, Chase Cross, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Kibaki, among other artistes will be a part of the project which is slated to be released after the summer.

"I was going to release it summer, but too much producer a release music now suh mi a wait," he said confidently.

The new producer says that he enjoys doing music and he is street smart so he fully understands the industry and what it takes to be successful. "The work naah stop here suh either because after this project there will be many more," he said.

Boom Boom outlined that much of his influence in producing has come from Payday Music, Seanizzle, Stephen McGregor and DASECA, "a Big Ship fuss mi see put 30 artistes pon one rhythm, big artiste and young artiste and mi did respect dat fi si di strength wey it give to the young artiste dem," he told THE STAR.

According to the DJ, he does not intend to stop selecting, he is just showing his talent in another area and he is hoping to help with the development of artistes.

"Mi always a help artistes and mi have a set of young artistes who mi a work with right now, dem sey do good and good will follow. Fambo help me get mi U.S visa suh mi help back some youths," he said.

The selector is also set to leave the island this weekend for England with veteran sound system Stone Love. He is also slated to appear at ATI, Caribana Festival in Canada and will commence his American tour in August.
