Sheldon Wright, STAR Writer

A Jamaican woman was stabbed to death with a butcher knife in Cheltenham, Philadelphia, on Wednesday while her two sons were still in the house.

Her two young sons were reportedly watching television, but investigators say that the boys did not witness the murder. The crime was allegedly committed by her Jamaican boyfriend.

According to reports from ABC news in Philadelphia, the authorities charged Clive S. Thompson, 28, of the Lynnewood Gardens Apartments, with first and third murder for the slaying of Olivia Thompson, 26, shortly after midnight in the couple's apartment.

Reports are that Olivia had filed for divorce due to Clive's "infidelity issues." however, no records were found by investigators.

It is alleged that the couple was at home with their two sons, ages four and eight, when an argument broke out shortly before midnight. The eight-year-old was in the living room watching television when he heard his mother scream from her bedroom. Following the scream, Clive Thompson came out and told the boy to go into his bedroom and shut the door.

The reports further stated that a resident was outside about 11:45 p.m. when she heard a woman screaming "at the top of her lungs" at someone to "get out". The resident said the woman sounded "hurt or scared".

The website further reported that Clive allegedly called a friend telling him to "come quick" to the apartment because he had allegedly stabbed his wife and needed to take her to the hospital.

It is reported that when the friend arrived, he found Olivia lying on the bed in the master bedroom and bleeding from a knife wound.

It is reported that the friend called 911 and administered first aid that was continued by police and emergency medical personnel but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The reports further stated that Clive turned himself in to authorities about 10:30 a.m. the following day claiming, "I am sorry I did it, so sorry."

The reports said that the Cheltenham police reported one prior contact with the couple this month. That occurred on June 21 when police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. At that time, Olivia reported that Clive would not leave the apartment. Authorities did not indicate how that situation was resolved.

It is reported that Clive is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Prison. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7.
