Ryan Mark contributes to the Rescue Package Foundation |
|||||
Ryan Mark - File Gospel Reggae Artiste Ryan Mark will be adding the title of philanthropist under his belt when he uses his drawing power to help the Rescue Package Foundation this weekend. The artiste, known for his songs such as Right With You, will be launching his third album titled, Israel at the third annual gospel showcase Liberation which will held this Saturday on the grounds of the Jamaica College. The launch is a joint venture with the foundation as they seek to raise funds to build a new basic school for Caring Basic in Payne Land located off Spanish Town Road. Dubbed a black and white affair, patrons are being asked to come out for a time of celebration at the Jamaica College Auditorium for the 6 p.m. start. With an all-star line-up and cover charge of only $500, all proceeds will be directed to the charity. Ryan's album will also be on sale for the same price. The Rescue Package Foundation is a non-profit Christian organisation focusing on our nation's children. Some six year ago, Simone Mignott, director and founder of the foundation, began assisting the Martha and Matthew's House, which facilitates and cares for children living with HIV. In January of this year, the group began a feeding programme for the aforementioned basic school. "When we saw the need and the environment they were in, it was just heartbreaking," said Mignott. "They were washing their hands from a basin, with inappropriate restroom and classroom facilities, and I said something has to be done to improve their learning conditions." |
